    Thomas S. Davis

    Thomas S. Davis is President of Tom Davis Associates, LLC, a management consulting firm specializing in environmental affairs. Located in Washington, DC and Basking Ridge, NJ, the firm focuses on stakeholder involvement process management and outreach activities to corporate, media, government and environmental communities, environmental external affairs and environmental issue management.

    Prior to starting his own company in 1996, Tom was Director of Global External Environmental Affairs for AT&T and Lucent Technologies. In that capacity, he was responsible for communicating the companies’ accomplishments in environmental management and safety to corporate peers, media, non-governmental organizations, business and professional groups and the Federal and state governments. Mr. Davis spent thirty-one years with AT&T and during the last twelve years, represented AT&T to its various stakeholder communities on environmental issues.

    Tom has been involved with many private sector environmental initiatives including the formation of the Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI), for which he managed the annual conference for six years and was a member of the Board of Directors. Additionally, he was a founder of the Corporate Environment, Health, and Safety Roundtable, the National Association of Environmental Managers (NAEM), and the Industry Cooperative for Ozone Layer Protection (ICOLP) which became a model for future programs of corporate and government/EPA partnership. He was active with the environmental committees of the Conference Board, the Electronics Industry Association, the Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers. He served as both President and Chairman of the National Environmental Development Association and its Foundation. Tom founded and continues as advisor to the Corporate Advisory Board for the New York High School for Environmental Studies.

    Tom was elected to the Board of Directors of New Horizons Technologies, Inc. Corporation, in 1997 and serves on the Executive Compensation Committee. He was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Directors of INNOVEST Corporation in 1998.

    He currently serves on many non-governmental organization Boards of Directors, including Chairman, Renew The Earth; Vice Chairman, Environmental Alliance for Seniors Involvement (EASI); he is a member of the Board of Directors of the institute for Conservation Leadership, the Clean Beaches Council, the Corporate Environmental Strategy Journal, and the Committee for the National Institute of the Environment. He has served in various capacities, including chair of the Information Technologies Workgroup with EPA’s National Advisory Council for Environmental Protection Technology (NACEPT).

    Mr. Davis’ clients have included AT&T, Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, Environmental Careers Organization, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the National Association of Environmental Managers, the National Environmental Education and Training Foundation, the River Network, the Wildlife Habitat Council, National Committee for Science and the Environment, and the Center for National Policy.

    Additional clients include the Environmental Education Coalition, Earth Force, Clean Beaches Council, Alcoa, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, Lucent Technologies, the Environmental Literacy Council, Clean Sites, and Multinational Business Services where he served as Vice President for Development, The AHC Consulting Company, National Wildlife Federation, Audubon Society, ECOS Technologies Corporation, Environmental Council of the States (ECOS), and American Association of Engineering Societies, and the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering.

    Current clients include The Ecosystem Project for the Heinz Center, The National Environmental and Education Training Foundation, Smart Growth America and National Wildlife Federation.

    Additionally he has served as Executive Director of the Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety Management Roundtable for the past 6 years, and for the past five years has been the Program Director for the Conference Board’s Business and Sustainability Conference.
